This Birds of a Feather discussion would bring together individuals who have thought about/undertaken actions in digital preservation and disaster planning/recovery in tandem. Too often, repositories aren't thinking about how to hold space for both of these important topics, and certainly there are more pressing and immediate things to do directly after a disaster. However, there is a way to think about and ramp up digital preservation efforts after a repository is back to at least a semi-functional state. While the moderator of this discussion has interned with digital assets at two sites that flooded, the hope is for this to be a collaborative space where people feel they can contribute, ask questions, and lean into the communal aspect of this talk.
