Rangitikei District Council Transforms Information Management with New ECM System
Project Description
Rangitikei District Council (RDC) adopted a new Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system.
Key drivers for change included:
• The necessity for a consistent and more efficient approach to managing information while meeting PRA and privacy obligations.
• Enhancing security and accessibility for remote access to information.
• An opportunity to innovate and introduce modern working methods.
The solution:
• Migrating from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online
• Increased use of M365 Teams to enhance collaboration.
• Integrating with our ERP.
Implementing document retention and disposal rules
• Extending the use of an External Guest Management
• System for onboarding external users and assigning permissions.
• Introducing a Property Hub and Kiosk functionality to display related property records.
• Implementing a knowledgebase for internal staff use.
Recognising the importance of compliant Taxonomy workspaces, the project evolved from a simple migration to a complete redesign. IL’s guidance and support were invaluable to our success in this digital transformation.
