Wellington City Council - Resilient Buildings Power BI Model
Project Description
- Wellington City Council’s Resilient Buildings Team worked with consultants PWC and Beca to develop a Power BI Model (the ‘Model’) to better understand and communicate the impacts of applying New Zealand’s earthquake-prone building legislation in Wellington City.
- Specifically, the Model provides estimates of likely costs and timeframes for strengthening earthquake-prone buildings (EPBs) at a citywide scale and allows Council to identify which buildings should be targeted as a priority for strengthening. This enables the Resilient Buildings Team to focus efforts on particular buildings and provide additional case management support to these building owners.
- Most importantly, the Model allows for the inclusion of constraints such as the capacity of the construction sector, to effectively understand the impact of these constraints on the likelihood that EPB owners will meet strengthening deadlines.
