Disinformation impacts on local government
Abstract
Nicole will outline the growth of false information and related polarisation in Aotearoa over the last four years. She'll unpack some of the key events, themes, contributing factors and methods that researchers have observed as this phenomena has grown both locally and worldwide. Nicole will discuss how these themes relate to the work and purpose of local government, and the challenges created by increasingly extreme behaviour both online and offline.
