Biography
Hannah is an archivist at Napier City Council, where she has worked for the past three years in their Records Management Team. In this role, Hannah is responsible for managing the physical records held by NCC, which are now primarily held offsite. She is new to the field of IM, and in 2022, she was the recipient of the ALGIM IM Training and Development Award. This award is currently supporting Hannah in working towards completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Studies.
In addition to her ‘day job’ of caring for and assessing the archives and helping with queries, Hannah has also been seconded into Civil Defence roles four separate times in different emergency events, including the recent Cyclone Gabrielle disaster. Wearing the ‘Civil Defence hat’ has given Hannah a new appreciation for working with the community, preserving archives, and mitigating future disasters.
