Pae Tawhiti translates to distant horizons, long term or future. Pae Tawhiti Rangitīkei Beyond is a road map for our district. This plan will lay the groundwork for Council’s infrastructure planning and the District Plan Review which will set the development direction of Rangitīkei through to 2050 and beyond. Underpinning spatial planning is the development, analysis, visualisation, interpretation, and presentation of spatial data. A range of GIS tools was used in the development of the first community spatial plan for the Rangitīkei, including assessment of land availability, walkability analysis, visualisation understanding of landowner development aspirations, visualisation of growth areas and key themes, and interactive tools for community consultation.
