Biography

After gaining a decade of work experience in the non-profit sector and completing an M.S.c in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Policy as a Fulbright Scholar, Véronique Couttee founded Geospatial Equity Tech (GET). In her role as a consultant, she brings unique value to projects by combining Geospatial Technology, Science, Storytelling, and expertise in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDI-B). Her passion is to give a voice to historically marginalized communities by combining inclusive leadership and technology. As a result, she has primarily focused on supporting indigenous-led conservation efforts in North America and Africa. Her dedication to social and environmental justice led her to launch the AfriTech Fellowship, a leadership and technology training program. Since its launch, AfriTech has empowered 20 emerging African women leaders to become critical contributors to digital transformation in the STEAM fields.
