Through practical examples and strategies, we will examine how to craft messages that are respectful, accessible, and engaging for diverse audiences. Attendees will learn how to navigate the complexities of language, identity, and culture in digital spaces to foster greater connection and understanding in their communications.

Biography

Long time Wellington Resident, Queen Olivia III is one of New Zealand's 10 most iconic drag queens, recognized for her work in writing, modeling, and activism. She is the author of the upcoming The Cat Operator's Manual, published by Chronicle Books. Olivia has written for The Daily Blog, The Sapling, and Mad in Aotearoa, and has hosted panels at New Zealand Writers Week and LitCrawl.
Her passion for community engagement is evident in her regular appearances at Rainbow Story Times across the Wellington region. She’s also been featured in high-profile campaigns like ANZ's GayTM initiative, Höpt Soda's Nön Usual campaign, and has modeled on billboards, buses, and beyond.
In addition to her literary and modeling work, Queen Olivia has acted in independent film Eulogy for a Tunnel and web series Dropped Pie. She has sat for renowned portrait artist Tatyana Kulida, with the portrait featured on stage at BATS Theatre.
