Abstract
An immersive workshop exploring how we will govern the humanoid council workforce of the future.
Humanoids (robots with human form and characteristics) are no longer science fiction. They are being used today in fields like manufacturing, healthcare, education, hospitality and emergency response.
But would humanoids be good for local government? Could a humanoid be your next building inspector? Can they ease some of our workload in road maintenance? Or do we think that humanoids pose too much of a risk to our human workforce and customers?
In this hands-on session, we will explore the ethics of humanoids in local government, through the lens of ALGIM and LOLA's world-leading humanoid ethics policy for local government.
Come prepared to discuss and debate the ethics of introducing human-like robot into our workforce.
